The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that spectators who bought tickets for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 2026 matches scheduled on 15 January 2026 will be eligible for a full refund.
In a statement issued on Friday, 16 January 2026, the BCB said refunds can be claimed through the authorised ticketing platform and helpline used at the time of purchase. Fans may apply via the official ticket website or contact the designated customer support number for assistance.
Tickets purchased for fixtures originally scheduled on 16 January will remain valid. The board confirmed that these tickets can be used for the rescheduled matches on the same day under the revised BPL itinerary.
Two BPL matches scheduled on 15 January were abandoned after cricketers refused to take the field amid an ongoing dispute involving BCB director M Nazmul Islam. The boycott followed controversial public remarks made by Nazmul, which prompted players, through the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), to demand accountability and disciplinary action.
The standoff led to significant disruption, including crowd unrest outside the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, where many ticket-holders were unable to enter following the sudden suspension of play.
After late-night talks between the BCB and CWAB, the players agreed to return to action from Friday, allowing the BPL to resume under a revised schedule. The board has since moved to address the concerns of affected spectators by confirming the refund process for the abandoned fixtures.
