The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from reputed business houses, companies, and corporate entities for franchise ownership rights in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 (BPL T20). The rights will cover five consecutive editions of the tournament from the 12th to the 16th seasons.

In its announcement, the BCB outlined ten potential franchise regions: Barishal, Chattogram, Cumilla, Dhaka, Khulna, Mymensingh, Noakhali, Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Sylhet. The invitation is open to both divisional and district representatives, allowing new franchises to apply from regions that have featured in past editions.

At least five of these ten regions are expected to be awarded franchise rights for the upcoming season. The BPL Governing Council stated that final selections would be made through a transparent, merit-based process considering financial strength, organisational reputation, and alignment with the league’s long-term vision.

While Noakhali’s aspiration for divisional status continues, the district could experience a new milestone by securing its own BPL team. If approved, it would mark the region’s debut in Bangladesh’s premier T20 competition.

The selected franchises will sign a five-year agreement with the BCB, granting participation rights from the 12th to the 16th editions of the Bangladesh Premier League.
