The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that its upcoming election will take place on 4 October 2025. The election roadmap was officially released on Wednesday, detailing all key dates leading up to the vote.
Last week, the BCB formed a three-member election commission, appointing Senior Advocate Mohammad Hossain of the Bangladesh Supreme Court as the Chief Election Commissioner. He has now outlined the full schedule of the electoral process, which will begin on 20 September.
The process will follow a structured timeline, including publication of the voter list, nomination paper distribution and submission, scrutiny, appeals, candidate withdrawal, and voting. Both postal and e-ballot systems will be used.

The BCB Board of Directors will be formed through votes cast by councillors, in accordance with the board’s constitution. Out of the 171 councillors, 76 represent clubs based in Dhaka. Notably, 12 of the 25 board members are elected from club cricket, while 10 are drawn from divisional and regional levels.
Following the election of board directors, the BCB President will be selected through a vote among the newly elected members.
This year, several high-profile figures have expressed their interest in running for director positions, including Tamim Iqbal and incumbent president Aminul Islam Bulbul, both of whom are reportedly considering a run for the presidency as well. Former president Faruk Ahmed is also believed to be a potential contender.
The election promises to be a closely watched affair as major names in Bangladesh cricket prepare to vie for key leadership roles in the board.
