A sponsor director of Bank Asia PLC plans to sell part of his stake in the lender through the stock market, according to a disclosure filed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Monday.
Bank Asia sponsor director Rumee A Hossain intends to sell 1.063 million shares from his holding of 39.32 million shares at the prevailing market price through the DSE.
The sale will be completed through the public market within the next 30 working days, the disclosure said.
Based on his current holding, the proposed sale represents about 2.7 per cent of his stake in the bank.
Bank Asia shares closed unchanged at Tk18.40 on Monday after trading between Tk18.30 and Tk18.40 during the session.
