Bangladesh and the United States (US) have stressed expanding cooperation in information technology, digital connectivity, cybersecurity and telecommunications during a meeting at the Secretariat.
The discussion took place on Tuesday when US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen met Posts, Telecommunications and ICT and Science and Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam at his secretariat office, according to a ministry press release.
Both sides emphasised strengthening existing bilateral relations, particularly through deeper collaboration in key digital sectors.
Building a Digital Bangladesh remains a priority and cooperation from the United States is crucial in this effort, said Faqir Mahbub Anam.
He also underscored the need to increase investment in the ICT sector and enhance knowledge and technology exchange.
US Ambassador appreciated Bangladesh’s progress in the ICT sector and assured continued support to expand cooperation.
Both sides expressed hope to work jointly on areas of mutual interest in the coming days.
Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Abdun Naser Khan, Embassy Economic Officer Joe Boski and Political Economic Counsellor Eric Gillan were also present.
