The 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup has made history with record prize money. The tournament, ending with the final between India and South Africa, has offered the highest payout in women’s cricket history.
From this edition, Bangladesh will take home nearly Tk 6 crore. The Tigresses finished seventh among eight teams and received 280,000 US dollars as prize money. Their group-stage win against Pakistan brought in another 34,000 dollars, while the rain-hit game against India added 17,000 dollars more. Including participation bonuses, their total earning stands close to six crore taka.
Each team received at least 250,000 dollars as a participation fee. Pakistan also earned the same despite not winning any games, thanks to three matches being washed out. Sri Lanka and New Zealand, who finished fifth and sixth, will both get 700,000 dollars.
The losing semifinalists, England and Australia, will each earn 1.12 million dollars — a massive jump from the last World Cup. The runners-up in the final will receive 2.24 million dollars, while the champions will take home 4.48 million dollars, equal to about 54 crore taka.
The total prize pool for this tournament is 13.88 million dollars, which is much higher than the 10 million from the 2023 Men’s World Cup. It is also nearly four times more than the 3.5 million dollars offered in the 2022 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.
