Bangladesh Army has cautioned the public and media about fake social media profiles in the name of Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, which have been spreading misleading information.
In an official statement, the Army clarified that the chief has no personal Facebook account or profile on any other social media platform and has no plans to operate one in the future, an ISPR release said.
The statement urged citizens and journalists not to be misled by content from such accounts. Authorities said efforts are underway to identify those behind these activities and take necessary legal action against them.
