Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman on Monday assumed charge as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman formally adorned him with the Lieutenant General rank badge at a ceremony held at the Armed Forces Division.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, along with other senior officials were present on the occasion.

Commissioned in the Corps of Infantry of the Bangladesh Army on 21 June, 1991, Lt Gen Mir Mushfiqur Rahman has served in a range of key command and staff positions during his career.
He previously held appointments as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division, Military Secretary, and Director General of the Directorate General of Defence Purchase.
