Online news portal Daily Bangla Post (dailybanglapost.com) has received the registration from the government, marking a significant milestone in its journey as a digital news platform.
The Press Information Department (PID) issued the registration certificate to the portal on Monday after completing the required formalities.
Earlier, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting recommended the portal for registration following verification by the relevant government agencies.
The certificate was issued after the prescribed government fee was deposited, according to a press release.
Reacting to the development, Bangla Post Editor Masudul Hoque said obtaining government registration is a matter of great pride and an important milestone for the online news portal.
“We have earned the trust and acceptability of our readers within a short period. This recognition will inspire us to work with even greater responsibility”, he said.
Masudul said the registration has further increased the outlet’s responsibility to uphold professionalism by publishing objective, accurate and public interest-oriented news while maintaining readers’ trust.
He also said the portal aims to strengthen multimedia journalism by producing modern, high-quality content, with equal emphasis on truth, credibility and technology-driven storytelling.
Bangla Post began its trial journey on 27 April 2024, with a commitment to investigative journalism and the effective use of modern technology.
The multimedia news portal covers national and international affairs alongside special reports, entertainment, sports, business, education, health and culture. It also produces live coverage, video content and discussion programmes.
Bangla Post is financed by Mehnoor Properties Limited (MPL), a concern of Mehnoor Group.
