After a 10-year hiatus, Bangladeshi rock band S.I.X has made a long-awaited return with the release of a musical film titled ‘Bhalobashi’.
The film premiered at 8:00 pm on Friday across major platforms, including the band’s official YouTube channel and Spotify, coinciding with Valentine’s Day.
The film brings to life a previously unreleased song that was first heard on FM radio several years ago. The track, which explores themes of love and longing, has been transformed into a visual narrative inspired by real-life experiences.
Drummer Arif Shishir, who wrote the lyrics and music, also stars in the film, lending authenticity to the portrayal of a love story shaped by separation and enduring affection.
Bassist and band leader Rakibul Romance explained that the band had paused activities in December 2015, putting work on their second album on hold. Since their return last year, the band has planned to release one single track at a time to allow fans to fully appreciate each piece.
Guitarist and producer Rezwan Ashraf continues to contribute to the project from abroad.
Romance added that Bhalobashi focuses on the emotional bond and attraction between two people, rather than conflict, highlighting how love endures despite distance and time. Directed by Tousif Mujtaba Shourin, the musical film follows the release of the earlier single ‘Ei To Somoy 2’ and marks the second track from S.I.X’s upcoming album.
