Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) has reduced gold prices in the domestic market following a decrease in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in local market.
Considering the overall market situation, the organisation has fixed the revised rates, which came into effect from 10am on Monday.
Under the new tariff, the price of hallmarked 22-carat gold jewellery has been set at Tk19,640 per gram, including VAT.
Accordingly, the price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold stands at approximately Tk2,29,081.
On 30 September, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori was fixed at Tk2,30,772, representing a reduction of Tk1,691 per bhori under the new rates.
Prices have also dropped for 21-carat and 18-carat gold. Hallmarked 21-carat gold jewellery is now priced at Tk18,760 per gram including VAT, bringing the price per bhori to roughly Tk2,18,817.
On 30 September, 21-carat gold was priced at Tk2,20,391 per bhori, reflecting a price cut of Tk1,574 per bhori.
Meanwhile, the price of hallmarked 18-carat gold jewellery has been refixed at Tk16,110 per gram, which translates to approximately Tk1,87,907 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Previously on 30 September, 18-carat gold was selling at Tk 1,89,248 per bhori, marking a decline of Tk1,341 per bhori.
In addition, the press release specified the new price of traditional method gold jewellery at Tk13,160 per gram, bringing the price per bhori to approximately Tk1,53,498.
On 30 September, traditional gold was priced at Tk1,54,606 per bhori, resulting in a reduction of about Tk1,108 per bhori.
