Veteran singer Asha Bhosle remains in critical condition after being admitted to the intensive care unit of Breach Candy Hospital following cardiac arrest and respiratory complications, reports PTI.
The 92-year-old was taken to the South Mumbai hospital on the evening of April 11. Hospital sources confirmed that she is currently in the ICU and continues to be in a critical state. Her family has not yet issued an official statement regarding her condition.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over her health. In a message, he said he was deeply concerned to learn of her hospitalisation and prayed for her speedy recovery. “Deeply concerned to hear that Asha Bhosle Ji has been admitted to hospital. Praying for her good health and a speedy recovery,” Modi said.
Asha Bhosle, one of the most iconic voices in Indian music, has enjoyed a career spanning more than eight decades, recording songs in multiple languages. She has been honoured with prestigious accolades including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan.
