Veteran American actor Scott Bryce, best known for playing Craig Montgomery in the long-running soap opera As the World Turns and for his role in Popular, has died. He was 68.
According to Deadline, Bryce’s son, Jackson, confirmed the news on social media, saying the actor died on 12 July after a long battle with cancer. In an Instagram post, he said Scott Bryce had initially been diagnosed with stage-three oesophageal cancer, which later spread to his brain.
Bryce earned consecutive Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1986 and 1987 for his portrayal of the ambitious and womanising Craig Montgomery in As the World Turns. Law and a recurring role as Corky Sherwood’s husband in Murphy Brown.
