Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has instructed both military and civil administrations to discharge their duties for the upcoming elections with professionalism, neutrality, and citizen-friendly behaviour.
The Army Chief issued these directives during an exchange of views meeting with officials from the military and civil administrations in Rangpur.
The meeting held at the Rangpur Circuit House on Tuesday.
He emphasised that all military and civil organisations must work in a coordinated manner to ensure the fair execution of the upcoming national parliament election and referendum.
Following the meeting, the Army Chief inspected the activities of army personnel deployed for electoral duties.
Addressing the troops at the Shaheed Abu Sayed Stadium, he reiterated the importance of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and neutrality while ensuring their conduct remains citizen-friendly.
The visit was attended by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Army Training and Doctrine Command; the GOC of the 66 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Rangpur Area; as well as senior officials from Army Headquarters and the Rangpur Area.
Also present at the event were the Rangpur Divisional Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, and high-ranking officials from various law enforcement agencies.
