Dhallywood actress Apu Biswas celebrated her birthday with warm wishes from fans and a series of glamorous black-and-white photographs that caught attention on social media.
However, her choice of the phrase “birthday girl” in the photo caption also sparked a light-hearted debate among netizens.
On Monday, 12 October, Apu shared several monochrome photographs on her Facebook page. Posing with a cake and striking stylish poses in front of the camera, the actress captioned the pictures “Birthday girl”.
Her birthday celebrations began at midnight on Saturday, marking the start of Sunday. She cut a cake with her son, Abram Khan Joy. The cake carried a heartfelt message from him: “Happy Birthday Mom. I love you.”
Before her birthday, Apu had also shared a black-and-white video featuring a new look. Alongside the video and photographs, she wrote, “May this year be filled with more laughter, learning and love.”
While many fans praised her appearance and sent birthday wishes, some focused on the phrase “birthday girl”. They suggested that “birthday lady” would be more appropriate. One social media user commented, “Birthday lady, not girl actually.”
Her outfit also drew mixed reactions online. Nevertheless, most fans celebrated the occasion by complimenting her style and beauty and wishing her happiness in the year ahead.
Apu’s birthday photographs have therefore drawn attention not only for their monochrome glamour but also for the debate over a simple caption.
