Veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar died of natural causes after a blood clot blocked a major coronary artery and disrupted blood flow to his heart, Goa Police said, citing his autopsy report.

A team of doctors at Goa Medical College and Hospital identified the cause of death as an acute myocardial infarction resulting from coronary artery disease.

The 75-year-old actor reportedly felt unwell in the early hours of Thursday (October 8) and informed a family friend.

He was taken to Manipal Hospital in Dona Paula, Goa, where doctors attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation for around 45 minutes but could not revive him.

Police said the final report ruled out foul play. His family has been informed of the findings and has not raised any objections, according to officials.

Patekar was cremated with full state honours at his farmhouse in Donje village in Pune district on Thursday.
