Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC held a discussion meeting and courtyard session in Cumilla with 27 agent outlet owners, four link branch managers, outlet managers, and selected customers on Monday.

The session focused on operational challenges, deposit growth strategies, and expanding modern, Shari’ah-compliant banking services. Participants discussed leveraging Digital Dan Box, Bangla QR, Islamic Wallet, i-Banking, and other digital channels to provide safer and more efficient agent banking.

Deputy Managing Director and Head of Agent Banking and Digital Banking Wing Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan said agent banking offers a key opportunity to bring underserved rural populations under formal banking. He urged agents and managers to work collaboratively to boost deposits, improve service, and advance financial inclusion.

Customers were briefed on secure transaction practices, including biometric authentication, auto-generated receipts, and SMS verification. They were encouraged to adopt cashless banking services through the Bank’s digital platforms.

Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan attended as Chief Guest. Vice President and Head of Agent Banking Division Mohammad Momtazul Hoque was present as Special Guest. Cumilla Branch Manager Md. Faruk Mia presided over the day-long programme.
