Ferdousi Ahmed Mishti, a member of parliament from a reserved women’s seat in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad, has resigned.

She submitted her resignation letter to Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad on Thursday afternoon.

In her resignation letter, Misty wrote: “I, the undersigned Ferdousi Ahmed, have been serving as a Member of Parliament from a reserved women’s seat in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad. I have, in full consciousness and of my own free will, decided to resign from the position. She further wrote, “I therefore respectfully request that you kindly accept my resignation letter and take the necessary steps to make my resignation effective.”

Misty spent around 15 minutes at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban that day. She was seen carrying a file when entering the Parliament Building, but no file was visible in her hand when she came out.

Asked by journalists about her resignation, Misty said: “The Speaker had called me, so I came to meet him.”

She did not, however, provide journalists with any detailed explanation at the time about the reason for her resignation.
