Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has received a stop-work notice from Mumbai’s civic authority after a complaint alleged that a salon and spa was being set up at his residential bungalow in Juhu without permission.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued the notice after a local cooperative housing society objected to the property being used for commercial purposes.
BMC officials reportedly asked Devgn’s representatives to submit the required documents and permits. The representatives allegedly failed to provide them, prompting the civic body to order a halt to the work.
The Devgn family has reportedly requested a month to arrange the necessary documents.
Local residents have also raised concerns about increased footfall, parking, security and noise. They said the neighbourhood’s narrow internal roads could come under additional traffic pressure.
However, a source close to the family claimed that the work began after the necessary legal procedures were followed and required permissions were obtained.
The development comes shortly after Devgn faced controversy over a pan masala advertisement featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Tiger Shroff.
