The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will file two separate cases against Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority’s (IDRA) former chairman M Mosharraf Hossain and his wife Jannatul Mawa for allegedly amassing over Tk14 crore in illegal wealth.
The anti-graft watchdog’s Director General Akhter Hossain disclosed the information at a briefing at its office in the city on Tuesday.
According to ACC, M Mosharraf Hossain submitted his wealth statement containing nearly Tk 4.53 crore on 25 July in 2022, while an ACC inquiry found that he did not disclose Tk1.36 crore.
Besides, ACC found that Mosharraf’s wife Jannatul Mawa’s acquired Tk13.88 crore, while her acceptable income stood at Tk49.75 lakh.
ACC alleged that Jannatul Mawa acquired around Tk13.38 crore illegally with the help of his husband.
