The 2019 Miss World Bangladesh winner Rafah Nanjiba Torsa has announced four new films for 2026. The model and actress continues to sign projects back-to-back and is currently busy shooting the rural drama ‘Mati’, scheduled for a theatrical release during Eid-ul-Azha.
Newcomer Alvi Mamun stars opposite Torsa in the film, alongside Md Iqbal Hossain, Mahmud Alam and Ashiq Sarkar in key roles. Tarif Syed directs Mati and has also written the story and screenplay.
Torsa said that the production team has completed most of the film’s shooting, with only a small portion remaining before the final wrap-up. She recently finished work on the short film ‘Roktochaya‘, directed by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi. The film is being prepared for international festival submissions, including the Cannes Film Festival.
The actress has also completed ‘Nirjon Shakkhor’, a film that examines discrimination against women in society. Actor Khairul Basar appears opposite Torsa in the project, which wrapped production earlier and is now awaiting release.
In addition, Torsa has finished shooting another new film, though contractual obligations prevent her from disclosing details at this stage. The production company is expected to announce the project officially in the coming days.
“Working on four distinct stories will allow me to present myself differently across genres and platforms,” Torsa said. She added that audiences would ultimately judge her work once the films reach cinemas and streaming platforms.
When selecting projects across cinema, OTT platforms and television, Torsa prioritises strong teams and compelling stories. She emphasised that cinema remains her first priority, followed by OTT content and television dramas.
Meanwhile, audiences have praised her performance in the web original series ‘Plan B’ following its digital release. She also gained attention for hosting the first season of her podcast She, which focused on social issues. Torsa said the second season of She will begin soon, continuing its aim of spreading positive messages.
