A fire that broke out at a six-storey building in the city’s Kalshi area has been brought under control.
Talha Bin Jasim, an official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell, said the blaze was contained at around 12:05am Friday. No casualties have been reported so far.
The fire originated around 10pm at a building housing Bibaho Bari Community Centre in the Kalshi area of Mirpur 11. Officials said the flames started from the sixth floor.
Liton, the owner of Beauty Fashion Garments located at the building, said all workers had left for home earlier in the evening.
Ten firefighting units were deployed to bring the blaze under control.
