Bangladesh have moved up one spot in the latest FIFA World Rankings following their recent outings against Hong Kong, China, despite missing out on a place in the Asian Cup.
The updated rankings, released by FIFA on Friday, saw Javier Cabrera’s men climb from 184th to 183rd after earning a 1-1 draw away in Hong Kong, having earlier fallen to a narrow 4-3 defeat at the National Stadium in Dhaka.
Elsewhere at the top of the table, Spain retained first place while Argentina rose from third to second after back-to-back victories over Venezuela and Puerto Rico. France dropped to third, followed by England in fourth and Portugal in fifth.
The Netherlands climbed to sixth, overtaking Brazil, who slipped to seventh after a mixed international window that included a 5-0 win over South Korea and a 3-2 loss to Japan.
