Mokhlesur Rahman, senior secretary at the public administration ministry, has been transferred to the Planning Commission as a member.

This information was disclosed in a circular issued by the ministry on Sunday. The transfer order will take immediate effect, according to the circular.

On 28 August 2024, senior secretary Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury was removed and Mokhlesur was appointed on a two-year contractual basis.

Mokhlesur, an officer of the 1982 BCS administration batch, allegedly created unprecedented disorder in the administration after taking charge as public administration secretary.

Allegations of neglect and discrimination also surfaced against those deprived of postings and promotions.

A storm of criticism also arose over the appointments of secretaries, heads of agencies, and deputy commissioners.

He was reportedly accused of financial transactions in connection with such appointments.

A former ACC secretary, Mokhlesur Rahman, was a key figure in the Zia Orphanage Trust case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. On 25 May, a case was filed against Mokhlesur and three former ACC chairmen.

They were accused of fabricating false allegations against Khaleda Zia and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to initiate cases against them. The CID is currently investigating the case.
