Veteran journalist Alamgir Mohiuddin dies at 83

Alamgir Mohiuddin, a veteran journalist and former editor of Daily Naya Diganta, passed away on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a Dhaka hospital. He was 83 years old.

Mohiuddin, who had been struggling with various health complications, was receiving care at Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital. He breathed his last around 1:30 pm, as confirmed by his family.

He is survived by two daughters. His wife had passed away four years ago.

Mohiuddin was born in Natore and completed his early education at Chanchkoir Nazim Uddin High School. He went on to pursue higher secondary education at Rajshahi College and later earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Rajshahi University.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam expressed his condolences following Mohiuddin’s death, praying for the eternal peace of his soul.
