Actress Adhora Khan has withdrawn from the film Violence, citing what she describes as unprofessional behaviour and poor communication from director Kamal Hossain Babor.

The international production was planned for filming in Canada, with Zayed Khan and Shirin Shila also set to star.

In a lengthy social media post on Sunday (11 October), Adhora explained her decision to leave the project. She said she had withdrawn long ago but decided to speak out after fans, well-wishers and journalists repeatedly asked about her involvement. No official announcement had clarified her departure.

Adhora said the director’s conduct and lack of proper communication prompted her decision. She added that she had informed the relevant parties but no formal announcement followed.

The actress said she had remained silent to avoid disrupting the film’s production or affecting the work of her co-stars and crew. However, she claimed that the silence had cost her both financially and professionally.

According to Adhora, waiting for Violence meant turning down several important international projects, including opportunities in Hollywood. She said contractual confidentiality obligations prevented her from sharing details of those offers.

She also claimed that her casting director and agency had warned her for failing to maintain schedules and professional commitments because of the film.

Adhora expressed particular frustration over communication about the shooting schedule. She said the production team tried to contact her only a day before her scheduled shoot.

The actress said her love for Bangla cinema had led her to join Violence. However, she now regards the experience as a major lesson in her career.

She described joining the project without giving sufficient consideration to professionalism, communication and mutual respect as one of her biggest career mistakes.
