Investors can now subscribe to UCB Income Plus Fund directly through bKash app, under a recent partnership between UCB Asset Management and bKash. UCB Asset Management described the arrangement as a first for Bangladesh. Two equity-oriented schemes managed by the company will join the platform soon, said a press release on Sunday.
The agreement was signed at UCB Asset Management’s head office in Dhaka.
UCB Asset Management Chairman Nabil Mustafizur Rahman, Directors Shah Alam and Shahbaz Talat, Independent Director Mohammad Ridhwanul Haq and Managing Director and CEO S M Rashedul Hasan attended the signing ceremony.
bKash Chief Commercial Officer Ali Ahmmed, bKash Executive Vice President and Head of Government and Utility Bill Payments, Commercial, S M Belal Ahmed, bKash General Manager, Financial Services, Commercial, Sabbir Ahmad, Vice President, Government and Utility Bill Payments, Commercial, Abu Salah Md Moinuddin and Manager, Government and Utility Bill Payments, Commercial, Sakib Ahmed attended the event.
UCB Asset Management said connecting with bKash would give pooled investment vehicles access to a large countrywide distribution network, helping the investment management industry scale.
UCB Asset Management is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Commercial Bank PLC and offers open-end funds and investment services, the press release added.
