The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 464 people during regular drives across the capital over 24 hours, filing 42 cases at various police stations.
According to a press release issued on Monday, Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests at 114, followed by Tejgaon (81), Lalbagh (58), Wari (57), Motijheel (46), Uttara (45), Ramna (32) and Gulshan (30). The Detective Branch (DB) arrested one person.
Police recovered 5kg of cannabis, 3 grammes of heroin and 10,872 Yaba tablets. They also seized two mobile phones and Tk3,520 in cash.
The DMP said further legal action against the arrested individuals was under way.
