Top terrorist Saheb Ali of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, was shot dead by rival terrorists on the afternoon of Monday in Siddhirganj.
Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emdadul Haque said the incident took place around 5pm in the Ati area of Siddhirganj due to an internal conflict, with one of Saheb Ali’s own associates shooting him. He passed away while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the OC added, noting that further details would be disclosed later.
On the night of 30 September last year, a team from the then RAB-11 (currently Special Response Battalion–SRB) conducted a drive to arrest Saheb Ali in the Boubazar area of Siddhirganj.
During the operation, a terrorist group led by Saheb Ali launched a sudden attack on RAB members, injuring four RAB personnel. Taking advantage of the attack, Saheb Ali escaped and had been absconding ever since.
