Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to collaborate with filmmaker Aatish Kapadia on a new project backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, marking an unexpected pairing in Hindi cinema.
According to an exclusive report by Filmfare, Kapadia, best known for creating television comedies such as ‘Khichdi’ and ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, will direct the film under the Bhansali Productions banner. Bhansali will serve as producer rather than take the director’s chair.
Details about the film’s plot, genre and supporting cast remain undisclosed. Pre-production is expected to begin after Bhansali completes his directorial venture ‘Love & War’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
The project also marks a renewed professional association between Kapoor and Bhansali. She was initially cast opposite Ranveer Singh in ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ but exited before filming, with Deepika Padukone eventually taking the role.
