Hollywood films ‘Digger’, starring Tom Cruise, and ‘Resident Evil’, directed by Zach Cregger, are set to release at Star Cineplex on 2 October, the same day as their international theatrical openings.
In ‘Digger’, Cruise undergoes a striking transformation to play billionaire Digger Rockwell, whose business activities trigger an environmental crisis in Greenland that threatens to escalate into a global catastrophe.
Directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the film blends black comedy, political satire and environmental themes.
Meanwhile, ‘Resident Evil’ reboots the video game-based franchise, returning to the survival-horror style of the original games. The story follows Brian, a medical courier trapped in Raccoon City amid a deadly infection and monstrous creatures.
The film stars Austin Abrams, Jack Champion, Cailee Spaeny and Paul Walter Hauser. Cregger previously directed the 2022 horror film ‘Barbarian’.
