Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that political identity will not be taken into account for those involved in attacks, vandalism and looting in several areas of Dhaka.
He made the remarks while speaking with journalists at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
The minister said those involved in the incidents will be arrested, and their party affiliation will not be considered.
Referring to negligence and failure of police in the Radda health centre incident, he said the officer‑in‑charge (OC) has already been withdrawn. Nine people have been arrested in connection with the Radda attack.
Also, three people have been arrested over the ECB Chattar incident, and operations are underway to arrest those involved in all other incidents, he informed.
Salahuddin also said that 249 people detained during a secret meeting at the Jasad office in Gulistan have already been released.
Twenty‑seven people remain in custody at Paltan and Shahjahanpur police stations, the minister confirmed, quoting police.
Information regarding the detainees is being verified. After verification, further legal action will be taken against them.
