Bangladesh U19 women were denied a second straight win in the tri-series as Sri Lanka U19 completed a thrilling four-wicket victory off the final ball while chasing 120.
Sri Lanka lost opener Nethmi Upeksa for four off 10 balls early in the chase, but Sanjana Kavindi steadied the innings and kept the target within reach. Kavindi top-scored with 48, while Balasuriya added 21 to give Sri Lanka the platform for a late push.
Manudi contributed 11, Sewmini 10, Mathasara nine and Limansa two as Sri Lanka kept their chase alive until the final over before completing the target with the last delivery.
Nishita Akter Nishi was Bangladesh’s best bowler with two wickets, while Farzana Yasmin and Afrin Mim claimed one each.
Bangladesh had earlier posted 119 for seven after being asked to bat first. They lost opener Maimuna Naher for one off six balls, while Ochena Jannat made 16 from 24 deliveries. Bibi Ayesha was dismissed without scoring.
Captain Sadia Islam then provided the main impetus, putting together a useful partnership with Nishita before the latter was run out for 26 off 35 balls.
Sadia finished with a team-high 39 from just 22 balls, while Sadia Akter made 18 off 18. Farzana Yasmin scored six off seven and Kumari Sribani Rani added three off five as Bangladesh finished on 119 for seven.
