Actress and model Shakila Parvin will appear as Bahni in the upcoming serial Amra Viral, written by Al Amin Swapan and directed by Sajin Ahmed Babu.
Shakila first came into the spotlight eight years ago as the model in singer Mahdi Sultan’s music video for Tor Mon Paray. The video has since crossed 170 million views. She later appeared in several other music videos as well as television dramas and films.
Following her marriage, however, Shakila has not been working as regularly as before.
She has now completed shooting for Amra Viral, which will begin airing on a YouTube channel from 24 September.
“I have worked under Sajin Ahmed Babu bhai’s direction before, but I am even more satisfied with Amra Viral. My character Bahni is quite important and is the kind of role audiences can connect with. I am grateful to Sajin bhai for giving me the opportunity to play such a wonderful character. I hope viewers will enjoy the 52-episode serial,” Shakila said.
Director Sajin Ahmed Babu said the serial combines entertainment with humorous portrayals of various aspects of contemporary life.
Shakila shares the screen with actors including Mamunur Rashid, Abu Horaira Tanvir, Mousumi Hamid, Naznin Chumki and Farzana Chumki. Mashiur Rahman handled the cinematography, while Apel Mahmud Emil composed the background music.
Shakila’s most recent widely discussed drama was Same Same But Different, in which she starred opposite popular actor Mosharraf Karim. Her performance in the drama received praise from viewers.
