Election training for police begins at 114 venues nationwide

A two-day “Skill and Capacity Enhancement Training” programme for police personnel commenced on Wednesday across 114 venues nationwide to ensure the professional discharge of election duties during the upcoming local government elections.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir formally inaugurated the training for the Police Headquarters venue on Wednesday at the Hall of Integrity, Police Headquarters, in the presence of senior police officers.

The two-day training is being provided to 38,847 police members across the country who have not received election training previously, with 4,965 trainees taking part in the first batch.

Previously, 152,175 police personnel received election training for the 13th National Parliamentary Election. These personnel will undergo a one-day refresher training for the upcoming local government elections, which will begin following the conclusion of the ongoing election training.
