Police have recovered the bodies of three people, including a housewife, from the capital’s Banani, Badda, and Hazaribag areas.
The deceased were identified as Sirajul Islam, 43, a rickshaw puller in Banani; Chandni Akter, 23, a housewife in Badda; and Rafsad Mostafa Ruhin, 22, of Hazaribag.
Sirajul Islam was the son of late Kalu Miah, hailing from the Belabo Police Station area in Narsingdi. He was residing in a rented house in the Ershad Math area of Jamai Bazar, Korail, Mohakhali.
According to the inquest report prepared by Sub-Inspector (SI) Rafiqul Islam of Banani Police Station, Sirajul hanged himself inside his locked second-floor flat on Tuesday afternoon following a family dispute. Police recovered his body from the scene after being informed.
Chandni Akter was the daughter of late Abu Taher Munshi from the Nagarkanda Police Station area in Faridpur. She lived in a rented residence on Swadhinata Sarani in Uttar Badda.
Badda Police Station SI Anowara Akter noted in the inquest report that police recovered the housewife’s body hanging from a ceiling fan at her rented house on Swadhinata Sarani Road late Tuesday night after receiving information.
Meanwhile, in Hazaribag, Rafsad Mostafa Ruhin lived in a rented residence on Road 4/A in Jhigatola. He was the son of Jamal Uddin Ripon.
SI Md Shamim Miah said in the inquest report that Rafsad had completed his studies and was employed at a private organisation while also working as a private tutor.
At around 2:30pm on Wednesday, police recovered his body hanging from a ceiling fan in the dining room of his fifth-floor residence. It is understood that he committed suicide over a love-related affair.
