A case has been filed following an attack, vandalism, and looting at the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur-1, Dhaka. On Friday, the case was lodged with Shah Ali Thana against 400 to 500 unidentified individuals.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Alam of DMP’s Shah Ali Thana confirmed the matter on Friday. He said an attack and vandalism took place at the institution named Radda, and police rushed to the scene on Thursday night upon receiving information.
He added that necessary action would be taken following an investigation.
Earlier on Thursday midnight, attackers vandalised, looted, and demolished the entire establishment of the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur-1, including one brick-built and three semi-paka structures.
According to the organisation, more than 250 masked individuals wearing red cloths tied around their heads raided the facility midnight Thursday armed with local weapons. The attackers held two security guards hostage before looting valuable clinic equipment, medicines, vaccines, refrigerators, air conditioners, cash, and other goods, and breaking down the structures. The organisation claimed that the incident caused a loss of approximately Tk 1.5 crore.
Nasrin Akhter, Executive Director of the Radda MCH-FP Centre, disclosed these details on Friday morning.
