KSB Ltd and Green Dot Limited, a concern of ZI Group, have joined hands to promote sustainable water infrastructure solutions in Bangladesh as rising urbanisation and industrial growth increase demand for efficient water supply, wastewater treatment and water reuse systems. The two companies organised the “Solutions for Sustainable Water Management” programme on September 2 at Radisson Hotel Dhaka, bringing together government officials, development professionals, engineers and water-sector stakeholders.
The programme focused on the role of advanced pumping technology, energy efficiency and lifecycle optimisation in developing modern water infrastructure. Discussions covered applications in water collection and transportation, water supply, wastewater treatment and water reuse, with participants highlighting the need to reduce energy consumption, improve operational performance and lower long-term operating costs.
KSB Vice President Philip Storch said KSB’s approach combines advanced pumping technology with efficiency, reliability and intelligent system solutions. He said these technologies could help improve operational performance while reducing energy and maintenance costs.
Jyotirmoy S Bose, Senior General Manager and Regional Sales Manager of KSB East Zone, highlighted the importance of advanced pumping solutions in building efficient and reliable water infrastructure. He said KSB’s technologies could improve system performance, reduce energy consumption and maintenance expenses, and support sustainable water and wastewater management.
ABM Zahidul Islam, Chairman of Green Dot Ltd, said combining global technology with local engineering expertise was essential to addressing Bangladesh’s growing water management challenges. He said the collaboration with KSB would create opportunities to introduce advanced pumping and flow-management solutions and contribute to more efficient and sustainable infrastructure development.
The event provided a platform for knowledge exchange between international technology specialists and Bangladeshi professionals, combining KSB’s global technology experience with Green Dot’s local engineering capabilities and market knowledge.
Among those attending were Md. Khalekujjaman, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD); Ahteshamul Rasel Khan, Additional Chief Engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE); Md. Abdul Kaium, SE, Planning Circle; Saifur Rahman, Project Director, GOB/UNICEF, DPHE; Dr. Muhit of the Gates Foundation; Dr. Mohammad Saif Uddin, Additional Chief Engineer, DPHE; and Mohammad Vadrul Alam, Chief Engineer of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), alongside other water and infrastructure professionals.
The event was attended by Nargis Sultana, Managing Director of Green Dot Limited, along with senior officials from KSB India, including Jyotirmoy S. Bose, Senior General Manager and Regional Sales Manager (East Zone); Meena Kumari, Export Manager; Philip Storch, Vice President, Sales Management Water; and Sunil Bapat, Vice President–Operations, Sinnar Plant and Foundry Division and COO, Solar Pumps. S. M. Saidul Alam, Country Manager–Bangladesh, KSB, was also present.
The programme concluded with a dinner and musical evening, allowing participants to network and continue discussions in an informal setting.
