Popular television actress Tanjim Saiara Totini is set to return to serial dramas after a five-year break.

She will play the role of Noorjahan in director Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raj’s upcoming serial Phire Asar Golpo.

Production house Cinemaowala Entertainment recently unveiled Totini’s first look on social media, generating excitement among viewers ahead of the drama’s release.

The serial also stars Khairul Basar, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Sumaiya Shimu, Faizul Yamin, Monira Mithu, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Deepa Khandakar, Ejazul Islam and Mukit Zakaria, among others.

The project also marks Sumaiya Shimu’s return to television serials after a long hiatus.

Director Mostafa Kamal Raj said the serial revolves around a family-centred story.

Shooting is scheduled to begin next month, while the broadcast date will be announced later.

Totini previously earned praise for her performances in Raj’s dramas Tomader Golpo, Tomader Golpo 2 and Shomporker Golpo.

She has also recently completed shooting for the director’s new drama Pothhara.

Most recently, Totini appeared in Kajol Chokher Meye, directed by Zakaria Soukhin, opposite Farhan Ahmed Jovan.

The drama received a positive response from viewers and crossed more than 13 million views on YouTube within just eight days of its release.

Her new drama Amor Prem, co-starring Partha Sheikh, is also set to be released today.

Although she has received offers to work in films, Totini has said she wants to focus on television dramas for now.

According to the actress, she hopes to make her big-screen debut only after she feels fully prepared.
