Ganosamhati Andolon has urged the nation to unite under the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War and the July 2024 uprising to establish power balance, ensure genocide trials, and create conditions for fair elections.
The organisation paid tribute to July Uprising martyrs at Shaheed Minar on Tuesday morning.
Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, addressing journalists afterward, stated: “To restore power equilibrium, deliver justice for genocide, and ensure participatory elections, we must reunite in the revolutionary spirit of ’71 and July ’24.”
Saki accused “defeated fascist forces” of remaining active, alleging: “Awami League is masking crimes through covert terror and mob politics. We must stay vigilant.”
He emphasised that “the July Uprising wasn’t merely protest – it embodied aspirations for new political-economic-cultural systems born from democratic yearnings.”
Announcing “July Uprising Month” from July 1 to August 5, the organisation revealed a series of commemorative events, including an honorary conference for injured activists at BMA Auditorium on July 4, a tribute rally for martyr Abu Sayeed in Rangpur on July 16, a “July Mass Assembly” at Shaheed Minar on August 1, and a rally in Mirpur commemorating martyr Zulfiqar Shakil on August 4.
Saki declared these events would serve as “anti-fascist resistance platforms, not just memorials.”
The ceremony was attended by Executive Coordinator Abul Hasan Rubel, Political Committee members Taslima Akhtar and Monir Uddin Pappu, along with editorial members Bachchu Bhuiyan and Zulhasnain Babu, among others.
