Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), enabling customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB to pay their electricity bills through the bank’s branches and sub-branches across the country.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Shamsul Haque Sufyani, managing director (current charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, and Md Masud Parvez, director, Financial Monitoring (Northern Region) of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board, on behalf of their respective organisations, reads a press release.
Under this partnership, customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB will be able to pay their electricity bills conveniently, securely, and efficiently through Community Bank’s nationwide network of branches and sub-branches.
The signing ceremony was attended by several senior officials from the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board, including Milia Sharmin, member (Finance) and joint secretary; Md Idris, controller (Finance & Accounts); Sharmin Mahmud, secretary of the Board; Md Zia Uddin, director (Finance); and Himel Pal, director (Finance).
Representing Community Bank Bangladesh PLC were Md Ariful Islam, head of Corporate Banking & head of Business (Branch); Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, chief information technology officer; Sujat Haque, unit head, Corporate Banking Division; Md Shariful Islam Kadir, FCA, chief financial officer; Mamun Ur Rahman, head of ADC & head of MD’s Coordination Team; and Tohinul Islam and Nishit Kanti Sarkar from the Cash Management Team, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
