A high-level delegation from the European Union (EU), led by Ambassador Mr Michael Miller, met NCP Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Md Nahid Islam, MP, at the party’s central office in Dhaka.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the implementation of key reforms ratified in the recent popular referendum. They also reviewed the EU Election Observation Team’s guidelines on ensuring transparent and credible electoral processes, along with institutional frameworks for the upcoming local government elections.
The meeting ended with both sides reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and constructive international cooperation.
Following the formal session, NCP leaders guided the EU delegation through the historic July Revolution graffiti, highlighting the aspirations and spirit of youth during the movement.
NCP International Affairs In-Charge Alauddin Mohammad and Joint Convener Monira Sharmin attended the meeting. The EU delegation was also represented by Deputy Head of Delegation Ms Baiba Zarina and First Secretary (Political) Mr Sebastian Riger Brown.
