All preparations have been completed for the main Eid-ul-Adha Jamaat at National Eidgah Maidan in the capital, under the management of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, alongside Cabinet members, judges, senior government officials, and foreign diplomats are expected to join the main congregation.
DSCC Administrator Md Abdus Salam provided these details during a briefing on Monday, saying comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable prayer environment featuring modern facilities and separate provisions for male and female worshippers.
The National Eidgah spans approximately 30,000 square metres, which includes a 25,400-square-metre main prayer pavilion.
A total of 121 rows have been arranged, allowing around 35,000 worshippers to offer prayers at a time. Within this capacity, designated arrangements have been made for 250 VIP male and 80 VIP female worshippers, alongside separate facilities for roughly 31,000 men and 3,500 women.
Access to the venue is organised through four entry gates – one for VIPs, two for male worshippers, and one for women.
There are seven designated exit gates, including one for VIPs, five for men, and one for women. Of the 121 allocated rows, five are for VIP men, one for VIP women, 65 for men, and 50 for women.
Ablution facilities have been prepared for 140 worshippers to perform the ritual simultaneously, with 113 spots for men and 27 for women. The venue is equipped with air conditioning, fans, lighting, and safe drinking water.
While carpets and prayer mats are provided for VIP rows, organisers have ensured separate entry and prayer arrangements for all women.
To maintain safety and order, Fire Service and Civil Defence teams will be on standby. The site also features first aid services, mobile toilets, drainage systems, and measures for rain protection.
