Two workers died after a fire broke out at a chips manufacturing factory in Badda, Dhaka, early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mostafa, 21, and Mahmudul Hasan, 23.
Badda Police Station’s Inspector (Operations) Md Azharul Islam confirmed the deaths.
He said the blaze erupted at Maria Abdullah Food Chips factory on Badda Koborsthan Road around 2am due to an electrical short circuit. Firefighters later extinguished the flames and recovered the two bodies from inside.
The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
Factory employee Md Rakibul Islam said the structure is a two‑storey tin‑shed and ten workers were inside when the incident occurred.
