Apu Biswas has expressed interest in collaborating with acclaimed Kolkata filmmaker Srijit Mukherji, signalling a possible return to cross-border projects.
Speaking in a recent talk show, the Dhallywood star reflected on her career and emphasised the pivotal role directors play in shaping an actor’s journey. She noted that creative direction often determines both opportunities and artistic growth.
Apu highlighted her past collaborations with prominent Bangladeshi filmmakers, including F I Manik, Amjad Hossain, Chashi Nazrul Islam and Sohanur Rahman Sohan, describing those experiences as significant milestones in her career.
Turning to future ambitions, she said she remains keen to work in Kolkata’s film industry and is particularly drawn to Srijit Mukherji’s storytelling style. She added that she would welcome an opportunity to work with the director if the right project arises.
The actor is currently occupied with two film projects, ‘Durbar’ and ‘Secret’, both of which are in production. Apu has informed that a substantial portion of shooting for the films has already been completed.
