Veteran television actor Mirza Faruk, father of actress Bonna Mirza, has passed away, playwright Masum Reza confirmed.
Mirza Faruk died at his home in Dhaka on Tuesday, April 15, around 10:00 am. The family has yet to announce details regarding the funeral and burial arrangements.
A former popular face in television dramas, Mirza Faruk was also a freedom fighter and a retired official of the Family Planning Directorate. His passing has left family members, colleagues and admirers in mourning, with many offering prayers for the departed soul.
Bonna Mirza is currently based in the US, where she works with a corporate organisation.
Mirza Faruk was known for his work in television dramas and made notable appearances in productions such as ‘Ronger Manush’ and ‘Vober Hat’. He also acted in several films, including ‘Headmaster’, ‘Shartho 71’, ‘Rabeya’, ‘Khandochitra 71’ and ‘Pita’.
