After facing initial setbacks with previous films, filmmaker Sazzad Khan is moving ahead with his new project titled ‘Parapar’.

Sazzad’s earlier features ‘Sahosh’ and ‘Kathgolap’ differed in narrative but shared a common fate, both running into trouble with the Censor Board.

While Sahosh was eventually released on OTT platforms after the ban was lifted, Kathgolap has remained blocked for three years despite multiple appeals.

Undeterred, the director has begun work on Parapar, unveiling its first poster on social media while cast details are kept under wraps.

The visual features a crowded sea with a speeding vessel cutting through it, while the shadow of an aircraft looms overhead, hinting at themes of movement and migration.

Sazzad said the film will explore the journeys of Bangladeshis who leave the country each year in search of better opportunities in Europe. He noted that while some succeed, many endure significant hardship along the way, a reality the film aims to capture.

The story has been written by Sauvik Pandit. Shooting for the big-budget production is set to begin later this year, Sazzad confirmed.
