Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered around 30 litres of diesel during a special operation in Tetulia, Panchagarh.
Panchagarh 18 BGB Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Abdullah Mohammad Kayes confirmed the matter on Saturday.
According to BGB, an operation was conducted by the patrol team from the Bhutipukur BOP and recovered around 30 litres of diesel.
Lt Col Abdullah said, “Special security measures have been taken to prevent fuel smuggling through the border area as per the instructions of BGB headquarters. As part of the security measures, operations are being conducted to prevent fuel smuggling by strengthening BGB’s patrol activities and increasing intelligence surveillance in the border area, including setting up temporary checkpoints.”
