Bangladesh won the SAFF Under 20 Championship after beating India 4-3 in a penalty shootout in Friday’s final. They stayed unbeaten and lifted the title in style. A reception will be held on Saturday night at Hatirjheel Amphitheatre to honour the team.
The Bangladesh Football Federation said the programme will start at around 7:30 pm. Before that, the team will travel from the airport in an open top bus. A victory parade will move through the city and end at Hatirjheel.
Youth and Sports Adviser Aminul Haque congratulated the players and confirmed the plan. Bangladesh won the final in Maldives. Goalkeeper Ismail Hossain Mahin made key saves. Ronan Sullivan scored the winning penalty against India.
The BFF has asked fans to come to Hatirjheel at 7:30 pm. Supporters will get the chance to welcome the champions and celebrate the win together.
