Huawei secured eight Global Mobile Awards at Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026, underlining its push across network infrastructure, artificial intelligence and digital services.
The recognition, announced at the GSMA-organised event, spans areas including mobile network infrastructure, AI-powered networks, fintech innovation and digital inclusion, according to a press release.
The Global System for Mobile Communications Association awards are among the industry’s most established benchmarks, judged by a panel of global experts to recognise advances in mobile technology and services.
Huawei received the Best Mobile Network Infrastructure award for its ultra-broadband and energy-efficient solutions supporting 5G evolution across frequency bands, with a focus on performance and lower power consumption.
It also won Best AI-powered Network Solution for a joint “AI plus network” transformation project with China Mobile, designed to improve efficiency, growth and cost management in network operations.
In satellite connectivity, Huawei and China Telecom were recognised for developing technologies that enable direct mobile phone connections to Tiantong satellites, marking progress in non-terrestrial networks.
The company shared the Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers award with Indonesia’s Telkomsel, while its collaboration with China Mobile on an AI-based health assistant secured recognition for connected health and wellbeing.
Huawei also won in fintech and digital commerce through its partnership with Safaricom on the Ziidi wealth platform, reflecting its role in expanding mobile financial ecosystems in Africa.
Further awards highlighted the use of mobile technology for accessibility and inclusion, as well as initiatives aimed at improving education outcomes for children through 5G-enabled virtual learning platforms in rural China.
Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026, held in Spain, brought together global telecom and technology firms, where Huawei showcased its latest products and solutions.
